I'm retracing our map
It feels like chasing a ghost
In the fog; I lost your words...
I saw it surround me
But when I needed it most (Like a ghost...)
It faded faster than I could reach...
I thought I'd been blessed by my own ghost
I guess I confess that my impulse
At best, was possessed, and at the most
I left a piece of it behind...
Inside a cloud of white lies...
I'm chasing that cloud
It's just like hunting a ghost down
Even if it's yours, I'm way of course, and at a loss for words...
I feel you around me
Though you’re not even close (Maybe never were...)
You faded faster than I could say: "I'm real..."
(There was a lesson here, somewhere...
But I lost it in the fog...)
I thought I'd been blessed by my own ghost
I guess I confess that my impulse

I begin again with each new birth
